Football is taught at both Key Stage 3 and 4 over a full term. The pupils will be taught the basics of football right up to the more complex skills of football.

Year 8: Pupils are taught the rules, passing and movement skills, tackling, basic ball work skills and shooting.
Year 9 : Pupils are taught further passing skills, wing play, positional play and three touch football.
Year 10: Pupils are taught attacking skills, defending skills and set plays. Pupils will also be taught how to create space and close space as a team.
Year 11/12: At Key Stage 4 pupils who have opted for GCSE PE will be assessed on their football as part of their course. It is important that they have learnt all skills taught through Key Stage 3. Pupils who have not opted for GCSE PE have the opportunity to play football on a recreational basis during class.
Year 13/14: At Post-16 pupils get the chance to play football recreationally as part of their PE programme.
