Christmas Cracker 2010

The annual Christmas concert was a fun-filled and exciting way to showcase Lisnagarvey’s talent. This year’s ’Christmas Cracker’ saw Jamie Adams and Ryan Ferguson (Year 12) become Santa’s elves, Connor Stewart (Year 12) become a snowman and James Burns (aka Burnsy) become Santa for the evening! Even the teachers got in on the act with Mrs Kidd, Mrs Henderson, Miss Gilmore, Miss Johnston and Mrs McGarry all donning their pjs and singing on stage! The choir, organised by Miss Campbell and Mrs Hamill, delighted the audience with traditional Christmas carols as well as solo performances from Adina and Jason (Year 8). Both had beautiful voices and demonstrated nerves of steel. Other highlights were musical renditions of Slade’s ’I wish it could be Christmas Everyday’ and ’Let it Snow’. Lisnagarvey’s very own Rock Band, lead by Mr Sheerin, gave a fantastic performance throughout the concert whilst Miss McFall and Miss Diffin’s dance group performed many energetic dance routines.

There was drama, music and laughs a plenty- what more could you ask for in the run up to Christmas. All proceeds were donated to charity. Special mention must go to Mrs Kidd who organised and directed the performances with military precision!
