Homeworks are considered to be essential. They are set to:
Homeworks are recorded in a Homework Diary which is monitored regularly. It is essential that parents inspect and sign these diaries at the end of each week. Homeworks will be marked by the teacher and returned. There is an established structure for dealing with pupils who fail to produce homework on time. Problems arising will be reported to parents by letter.
At least two homeworks per week in English, Maths and Science and at least one homework per other subject, per week.
GCSE and Advanced Level students - at least two homeworks per subject per week. Heads of Departments and Year Tutors will be pleased to discuss any homework problem.
The school offers a programme of Supported Study. This includes a daily Homework Club to assist pupils as well as tuition within departments to facilitate the completion of coursework and revision.
Supported Study provides revision for all major examinations and includes an Easter Revision Club during the holidays for GCSE students.
