Homework
Homework is considered to be essential. They are set to:
- Reinforce and extend work that has been carried out in class
- Provide opportunities for pupils to practise study skills and develop the habit
of private study
- Provide opportunities for teacher assessment and pupil self-evaluation
All homework will be set using our digital learning platform, Google Classroom. Homework
assignments will have clear instructions and due dates. Parents and carers will be invited
to become 'guardians' on Google Classroom and once signed up, will receive daily/weekly
emails regarding their child's work. It is expected that parents will monitor homework using
the guardian emails.
Some homework will be submitted or completed online, whilst others will be brought to class
for marking. All students have been shown how to submit their work online during Digital
Skills lessons. There is an established structure for dealing will pupils who fail to
produce homework on time, e.g., detentions etc. Any communication regarding homework will be
done via Google Classroom for students and via text message (Teachers2Parents) or phone call
for parents and carers
[please note that Google Classroom comments are not a means of parental contact].
